Congratulations to Phon’s 10 year old “Young Gun” Clayton Mott who has been working extremely hard to reach a higher standard of athletic ability.
Clayton’s example of how training Muaythai can help with other sports and other aspects of our lives. Training a martial art, specially Muaythai, doesn’t mean that one needs to fight at all, if they don’t wish, and still garner a massive benefit helping with overall fitness and health. Other benefits include endurance, presence of mind, focus, the ability to set goals and stay fixated on those goals until they are met.
While Clayton has been training Muaythai at Phon’s gym for many years, he cannot compete in the ring until he turns 12, which is still a few years away. In the meantime however Clayton has been competing in running and swimming – he finished the 14km Swan River run last weekend with a time of 1 hour and 13 minutes, and won his State-level qualifying races in both the 50M and 200M backstroke.
We are really proud of Clayton’s achievements – keep up the great work!
