On Wednesday August 24, 2011 vice president of the WBC (World Boxing Council), president of the Asian Boxing Council and WBC Muaythai Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi met with Australian Muay Thai Promotions promoter Phon Martdee at the WBC Muaythai headquarters in Bangkok.

The discussions largely centred around the progress of Muay Thai in Australia, and his desires to promote Muay Thai in the United States as well as the potential to expand Muay Thai at the WBC World Convention in Las Vegas USA later this year. Bhakdibhumi also discussed his exciting ambitions to promote Muay Thai in many other countries worldwide once the US project is a success.

"I very much appreciated the time the WBC Muaythai Chairman was able to spend with me and I enjoyed the opportunity to share the success of the Australian Muay Thai community with him." Said Martdee.

The Annual WBC World Convention to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada December 11-17 is sure to attract WBC delegates from around the globe with rumoured guest appearances by the WBC's greatest boxing and Muay Thai champions.
