WBC Commended Appointments

We have received congratulations on the appointments of the best of the year here at the WBC office from all around the world.

As you may recall the boxer of the decade was an appointment that went to the Philippine idol, Manny Pacquiao, for his repeatedly great performances against top-notch opponents.
The Philippine is now considered the best fighter in the actual world of boxing.

In terms of the Argentine Sergio "Maravilla" MartÃnez, he was considered fighter of the year for his sensational triumphs over Pavlik Kelly (middleweight world title) and Paul Williams. Everybody who watched the fights was impressed by them.
Fight of the Year

The one held in Quebec, Canada, Jean Pascal and Bernard Hopkins, who finished with a tie.
KO of the Year

Which was dramatically applied in two rounds by the middleweight champion of the world, Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez, over Paul Williams, a knockout that will go down in history.
Champion of the Year

World heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko, WBC boxer who cannot be beaten by anyone right now. He is a champion of consummate behavior and a model for the youth of the world.
The most outstanding fight of the year

Fernando "Cochulito" Montiel against Hozumi Hasegawa, an extraordinary fight in Tokyo, Japan, in which Montiel connected a blow to Hasegawa that broke his jaw, thus, conquering the WBC bantamweight title.
